Trading goods goes worldwide E-mail

SwapThing.com, the leading online system for trading goods and services, is prepared to go international. After nine months of operating solely within the United States and Canada, SwapThing is listening to the demand from swappers around the globe.  The website has now opened for business to an international audience.

SwapThing launched in January 2005 in the United States and Canada, with an eye on a future international expansion. That future is now, and potential users outside of these two countries will no longer face geographical roadblocks during the registration process.

"I visited the site and love the idea of being able to swap for items I want and to use it to post some things I have, but the service isn't available in my home country of Hungary, interested swapper Rita Kovacs of Budapest commented.

With the international expansion, SwapThing opens up their unique barter system to 31 new countries, including Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the EU nations (France, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain etc.). While language support is still a future endeavor for SwapThing, the newly added functionality allows swappers to see where items and services are located, as well as display their own items with the proper country code.

"We heard from many potential swappers abroad and could not ignore their desires any longer.  Opening our barter system to more of the world became a high priority, and we are now ready to do just that." explained SwapThing CEO Jessica Hardwick.

SwapThing, Inc. is a website that creates and empowers online communities through the exchange of goods and services. With sophisticated search technology and low fees, SwapThing brings swapping mainstream by making it faster, easier and less expensive for individuals and small businesses, creating access they previously had lacked and greatly increasing the market for swaps. SwapThing is headquartered in Cupertino, California. For further information, please visit www.swapthing.com.
