New radio station for the Costa |

September 2006 marked the launch of Coast and Country FM (CCFM) a new radio station broadcasting 94.2 FM here on the Costa del sol. Aimed at the British expat community CCFM has gone to great lengths to reach the inland community. Owner Ronan Holdsworth launched the station at a Dinner dance at the Tamisa Golf Hotel earlier in the month.
The evenings main event was a charity auction which raised over €7000 euros for children’s charities in less well off parts of the world. “we want to do something different!” said Ronan “We have chosen the Menacre Foundation and the Dave Smethhurst Ministry as the first charities to support” both these organisations help children and adults worldwide who for no fault of their own are without the support of loving families or need extra support because of disabilities. “CCFM will broadcast a mix of music and chat aimed at the 35+ age group” They aim to bring a popular style of easy listening programming offering listener interaction and local business participation.
