It´s been a crazy month here on the Costa del sol.

but one story stood out in the stoopid category

After ten years on the run one of Italy’s most dangerous Mafia fugitives got himself arrested here on the Costa del Sol. His girlfriend posted his photo on Face book showing him at a restaurant in Marbella.

The Italian police said "When we saw the pictures on Face book we could not believe his girlfriend had been so stupid." the spokesman continued "It was very easy to track them down as she was stood in front of the Nikki Beach restaurant sign in Marbella." the police added "The man was 'not at all happy' with his Moroccan-born girlfriend."

So face book is not just for linking up with old friends!!

In March 2009, it was announced that The main road connecting Mijas Costa and Alhaurin el Grande (A-7053) would be closed for one year for repairs by the Junta de Andalucia. After over two years of refurbishing works the road has been reopened.

The new road makes Alhaurin El Grande a short 15 minute drive from the A7 roundabout at Mijas Costa, the village has great views out over the Guadalhorce Valley and with the Sierra de Mijas looking down, Alhaurin el Grande is a village worth visiting, surrounded by finca´s (farms) growing oranges, Lemons, figs and many other fruits and vegetables. With many offering home produce at excellent prices.

With all the other new roads and connections Alhaurin el Grande is easier and quicker to get to

So there are new directions to Alhaurin el Grande:

Driving from Mijas Costa (A-7053) into Alhaurin el Grande takes only 15 mins.
Driving from Marbella at the Ojen turn off by la Cañada shopping centre takes only 20 minutes
- Ojen road (from la Cañada) towards Cártama (A-355)
Coming from Malaga Airport area: 25 mins

Violence against women is in the daily vernacular naming a woman a slut, a bitch, a hag, a piece of ass, referring to lovemaking as bashing, banging, screwing. Songs like: "killing you softly with my love" or "each man kills the thing he loves...". Violence against women is stalking, sexual harassment, snide remarks and rape.ç
